My weekend

How was everyones weekend? Mine was interesting, quite a wide range of activity. Saturday started off pretty relaxing. We went to the thermal hotsprings at 2ish. I went with Keegs and Henry. The place consisted of 2 pool areas, 1 inside and 1 outside, as well as some relaxation areas, massage places, and a sauna. The outside pool was really sweet since it was snowing outside, looks like the japanese baths you see in anime. They also had a massage circuit kinda thing were you stand in the pool and move from station to station after the bell. Each station had a water jet at different areas to massage you. We were gonna stay till 6 but as we were about to leave, Felix showed up so we decided to stay till 8 so he didn't waste his time. We left at 8 and walked home (Felix being an idiot walking home in sandals and no shirt with like a foot of snow everywhere.).

At night we went to Vance's and Lindsey's birthday party. It was good times all around. We also found Vance's secret stash of educational movies. Sorry Vance, it had to be done. We got home at about 2:30 ish since I had to get up early the next day. Happy birthday to both you guys.

On sunday I went to the auto show in Geneva. I went with Bernard, Travis and his friends from work and we meet up with Ty, Kevin, Owen, and Ryan a bit later. First we took a look around Geneva. Since it was Sunday everything was closes, but we just walked around the lake, it seemed like a cool place. The auto show was huge, with 7 large halls full of cars. I think it was probably 4x larger then Calgary's and they had pretty much every company there, from Lada to Maybach. I spent the next 5 hours wandering from booth to booth checking out the cars and taking pictures. There were a lot of custom-tuner cars here which was cool as well and a lot of 1 of a kind cars, something you don't see in Calgary. Another cool thing was all the concept cars they had on displace. 1 cool one was this Nissan thing that the seating areas could rotate, so you never had to reverse, just rotate and drive. Pretty cool. All the super cars were there as well, from Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborgini, Porsche...ect. I spent a ton of time in the BMW showcase and one of the guys there gave me a full run down of hte M5 and M6. Was really cool. Now, if I only have 160,000 CHF.

The only thing i was disapointed about the autoshow was that there wasn't much free stuff being given away just bags and brochures. It was sorta funny seeing all the people trying to get all the bags, I think 1 lady had 50. Felix came at 5:30 and quickly found he had no interest in cars. We did quite a bit of train hopping to get home since there were a bunch of train delays. We got home at 10:30 ish.

That night I went out again. Over in Europe, Carnival has been going on for some time and one of the last ones was the parade in Basel. Unfortunately it was at 4am. I went to Vance's place at about 12 to meet up with everyone and we went to Zurich at 1 to pick up a few more people. I went with Vance, Tommy, Jacqui, Adrienn, Richard, Alain, and a bunch of Jacqui's co-workers. The trainride there was pretty entertain, we got a ton of "swiss-looks" from the locals because of our discussion topics, those crazy swiss people. We got to Basel at around 3:20 and headed off to find a cool spot. The parade consisted of a bunch of people in custumes playing the Picalo and drums or holding large colorful signs (like mini floats). It was amazing how packed the town was, considering it was 4 am. The masks that people were wearning where pretty cool, lots of weird deformed stuff. Woulda freaked me out as a kid. We got home at 7:30 on Monday, just enough time to get 30 mins of sleep before my workday. Pretty hectic day, with lots of travelling: Baden, Bern, Geneva, Olten, Zurich and Basel all in a day. That's pretty much my weekend, hope everyone else's was good. Pictures to come later. Comments always welcome. Peace
